IMG_3032Madia sativa (Chilean tarweed) harvest complete! A huge thanks to our amazing volunteers who joined staff at 6:30 this morning to knock out this harvest in three hours. Last year, we collected almost 18 pounds of seed from this sticky native species. Not bad, considering the seeds are smaller than a period. This year, we should have far more than that, as the plot was thriving! Join us any Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday morning this summer to help out with the harvest and seed cleaning. No experience necessary. Contact volunteer @ bufordpark.org for details.
